Dog Name: Gaby
Number: 570
Age: 3 Years (DoB 8/2011 est.) Sex: Female
Coat: Black and White
Eyes: Blue

Intake: 8/11/2014

Gaby is an affectionate, young Husky girl who was picked up as a stray by a shelter prior to being rescued by SHRF. Gaby is petite and a little underweight but now that she will be given proper food and nutrition she will become even more beautiful than she already is.

She is friendly and playful with other dogs, but not friendly with cats. Gaby also loves people, both men and women and will let them know by all the face nuzzling she gives.

Gaby has had some obedience training as she knows the "sit", "down", and "paw" commands. She also listens well and is receptive when given instruction or correction. She appears to be house trained.

Other than needing to gain weight, Gaby is healthy, Heartworm negative, spayed, up-to-date on her shots and will be microchipped prior to adoption.

Dog Name: Charla
Number: 569
Age: 2 Years (DoB 8/2012 est.) Sex: Female
Coat: Red and White
Eyes: Amber

Intake: 7/25//2014

Charla is a sweet, petite female who was picked up as a stray by animal services prior to coming to SHRF. Unfortunately, the same day she was pulled, we discovered that she was ill and our transport volunteers took her to an Emergency Vet for treatment. After blood work, tests, x-rays, and examination, the Vet has ruled out a few possibilities.

Charla is now on antibiotics and fluids at the emergency clinic for 24 hour care to see how she responds in the hope this will remedy whatever illness she may have. SHRF will continue to work with the Vets to ensure she has the care she needs to get her back to good health.

Charla is reputed to get along with other dogs. She was deemed eligible for rescue only due to killing small animals while she was a stray.

Charla is up-to-date on shots and will be tested for heartworms, spayed, and microchipped prior to adoption. We will post more about Charla's personality once she recovers.

Dog Name: Mako
Number: 568
Age: 1 Year (DoB 7/2013 est.) Sex: Male
Coat: Sable
Eyes: Bi-eyes

Intake: 7/21/2014

Mako is a sweet, young, beautifully colored Husky boy who was not well taken care of by his original owners and was picked up by animal control prior to coming to SHRF. Now, Mako is looking for the home he deserves.

He loves playing with other dogs, but does not care for cats, so caution in that regard is advised. He is friendly and enjoys getting attention from humans, especially belly rubs. Mako will take treats gently form your hand.

Mako is low Heartworm positive and will be treated using the "slow kill" method. SHRF will provide his adopter with instructions on this treatment method as well as supply the heartworm medication. He is otherwise healthy, housebroken, up-to-date on shots and will be neutered and microchipped prior to adoption.

Dog Name: Zero
Number: 562
Age: 3 Years (DoB 7/2011 est..) Sex: Male
Coat: Grey and White
Eyes: Blue

Intake: 6/7/2014

Zero is a handsome and very friendly Husky boy who rates a 10 on our scale. He was found as a stray by a couple of good Samaritans, who, after a week of unsuccessfully trying to locate his owner, turned him over to the shelter where he remained unclaimed until SHRF took him in.

It seems Zero has had some training as he has already demonstrated his knowledge of the “sit”, “down”, and “shake” commands. He also appears to be crate trained. His foster will evaluate if he needs to be crated when left unattended.

Zero is healthy, heartworm negative, neutered, up-to-date on shots, and will be microchipped prior to adoption.
