VIRTUAL ADOPTION

You all know the story of "Pinocchio" and how the Blue Fairy made him a REAL boy, right?

Well this is the story of Pakotna (Pa-cot-na) and how the Blue Fairy got her a REAL home……….

Once upon a time in a sunny tropical land there was born a pup named Pakotna. She was born into what the furless bipeds called a "Foster Home" and she was told she, her brother and her mother were "Foster Dogs". Pakotna did not know what that meant at the time. She played all day and slept and cuddled with her mom and brother and had such a wonderful time. Then one day it happened…..Pakotna and her brother had gotten too big for their "Foster Home" and were to be transferred to other "Foster Homes" according to the male biped. Now she still was not sure what a "Foster Home" was but she was sure she would be fine with it…after all, her family was having a great time at this one! The day of the move came and she and her brother left in the furless bipeds wheeled machine and on to their new "Foster Homes".

When Pakotna arrived at her new home a lady who said she was her "Foster Mommy" greeted her. Now she did not have fur like her Mommy and did not lick her clean but she gave her lots of cuddles, love and TREATS!!! She had 2 foster brother Sibes there, Anikin & Lokie. They were much older and she still did not know what a "Foster" was so she thought she would ask them. Anikin explained what a "Foster" was to her, and that eventually she would have a REAL home. This home she was at was their REAL home. Lokie then explained that a REAL home is where you are for your whole life. You never leave and you can do ANYTHING you want. Now Pakotna always did whatever she pleased so she figured that was why she was transferred to another "Foster Home" and not a REAL home.….so maybe it was not because she was too big! She then decided she would do EVERYTHING right and try to stay out of trouble. Three months passed and she tried to do her best. She thought she now had a REAL home, after all, unlike her other home where she was only there for 9 weeks she has been here 3 months! But Anikin & Lokie reminded her this was only a "Foster Home" and their Mommy was only her Foster Mommy not her real Mommy. She got very upset and ran into her crate and cried and cried. As she was crying a blue light appeared in front of her…..at first she though it was a lightning bug and tried to catch it to eat it (hey they tasted good!) but then it spoke to her….

"Little Pakotna, I am the Blue Fairy and I am here to grant you your fondest wish because you have been so good."

Pakotna thought for a moment then barked, "I wish to have REAL home."

"Little Pakotna since you have traveled so far and waited so long I grant you this wish……..now close your eyes and sleep, for you will awake to a REAL home."

Pakotna slept all night and when she awoke…..she was still in the "Foster Home". She started to cry.. the Blue Fairy had promised her a real home…maybe it was a dream.… Just then her Foster Mommy approached her and picked her up and said, "Are you ready little one, your Mommy will be here soon to pick you up..you are going home today!" Pakotna was confused…why was her Mommy coming to get her and why would she go back to the other "Foster Home"? She decided to wait and see. About three runs around the yard and one bone later the doorbell rang. Anikin and Lokie raced to the door. As the door opened a bright light pierced through and a silhouette of a lady appeared through it . The lady came through the door and Pakotna got a better look at her. Pakotna was timid at first as she did not know who she was and backed up and voiced her opinion to her Foster Mommy. Then some gentle hands lifted her off the floor, it was the lady, who brought Pakotna up to her face. "I am your new Mommy little one…how would you like to come home with me?" Pakotna heard the word home but no "Foster" had ever mentioned it before,… could it be… was it true….. was this her REAL home!!!! Anikin and Lokie said together, "Congratulations Pakotna.. this is it.. your BIG day…you have a REAL home!"
