Kalvin is a handsome boy with a bright red fluffy coat; however, he doesn’t seem to shed as much as most Huskies. He is a mature adult Husky, so he will need an adopter with a special heart who won't hold his age against him.
Kalvin is a big sweetheart, very affectionate, well behaved and generally likes to lie around wherever his humans are as long as it's nice and cool - he loves tile floors. He is crate trained but like most Huskies past puppyhood, Kalvin is not destructive and does not need a crate. He greatly prefers to sleep right next to his humans’ bed. He doesn’t mind being the only dog in the house so he would be a perfect companion for a lone, or lonely, adult.
He absolutely thrives on attention from his human companions. He knows some basic commands such as sit, paw, and down. Kalvin will also let you know when he is hungry with some loud “wooing”.
Although Kalvin seems to like his own company at home, he is quite the social butterfly when out and about. He loves car rides and walks and has become quite the superstar in the neighborhood. The kids love him and he is very patient with their hugs. He is a playful boy as you can see in the video below with him playing with his female play date.
Kalvin has a common thyroid condition (even in humans) that tends to make him retain weight. He is on thyroid medication to control this and will have to take it for the rest of his life. The expense is minimal, approximately $2.50 - $3.00 per week. His thyroid levels are stable and his weight is within the acceptable range.
Kalvin is ready to go; house trained, neutered, microchipped, up to date on all his shots and heartworm negative.
