Anna is a super friendly, long legged, large pawed brown eyed girl who was picked up as a stray by a county shelter. She has a perfectly symmetrical Zorro-like mask that is quite striking.
She is playful and can be rambunctious when she first meets other dogs, but calms down once she knows them and has been together with them for some time. Anna loves to play tug of war and chase with other dogs. Her foster family has been working with her strong desire to greet and sniff newcomers and on improving her house manners and they are pleased with her progress. She walks well on leash and doesn’t pull much (she is a Husky after all).
Anna loves human company and gives great hugs, always staying within sight and reach of her humans, wanting to sit next to them and even jump into the bed (if allowed) to curl up right next to them. She is really smart and (like many Huskies) learns what she wants to learn quickly.
She tends to be a counter surfer, so keep food high to help her on her efforts to be the best Husky she can be. Like many dogs that have spent some time as strays, Anna loves food and will gulp too much for her tummy to tolerate. Pizza crust and bread are no-no for Anna. Thankfully, bread is not essential for dogs and can be easily avoided.
Anna is Heartworm positive and is on treatment. The Heartworm is being treated using the "slow kill" method. SHRF will provide her adopter with instructions on this method as well as supply the heartworm medication. She is otherwise healthy, up-to-date on shots, microchipped, and spayed.
If you want someone that will appreciate you, just as you are, no questions asked – this is the girl for you. Fill out an adoption application at the upper left corner of this page, today.
