Alpha was picked up as a stray by a shelter. He was quite vocal about not wanting to stay and wouldn't let up vying for attention, hoping someone would rescue him. With those beautiful brown eyes and sweet disposition, who could resist? We grabbed him up so he would have the best chance for a loving, forever home.
His foster Mom describes him as a good boy, smart, who adapts quickly. He is friendly with adults and young kids and gets along with other dogs. He has also shown respect for his foster cat sibling. We would surmise he is fine with cats, but supervision is always recommended.
Alpha traveled well when he was transported indicating he probably likes car rides - as do most dogs. He has shown nice house manners, not destructive. He understands the commands sit and stay, however, he may not stay for long if he doesn't think there is anything in it for him. Some additional training should help with that. He does the typical Husky digging in the yard to find a cool place to rest in the freshly dug sand, but we trust this behavior can be modified with training and attention.
He walks well on leash, which makes him a nice walking companion. He comes towards his foster when she calls him by his name. As is typical of Huskies, he will dig in the yard to find a cool place to rest in the freshly dug sand, but we trust this behavior, if it is unwanted, can be modified with training and attention.
Alpha is healthy, Heartworm negative, neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on his shots. If you wanted to define an overall "great dog", Alpha would be at the top of the list. His thoughtful eyes, affection and personality will steal your heart. Give him the chance to show you; fill out an adoption application at the upper left corner of this page, today..
